Storysaurus – Creating and Collating Stories with young people
We ran Storysaurus workshops at York Explore in connection with the Storylab Summer Reading Challenge. Exercises included going on a hunt for Storysaurus, the mascot for York Stories 2012, and then creating a character for him. There was some lively debate as to whether he is a Dinosaur or, in fact, a dragon! We then created stories about him while sharing our own experiences and memories of York. These stories were then put into pictures to aid the telling of the stories and we even created a projected filmstrip with which to interact. Thanks to Sue Matthews and all at the library for helping create such a fun event.
